We have hundreds of relationship podcasts with UNMARRIED “Experts” telling single people what they need to do to make their relationship work.

It’s insanity that anyone would pay hundreds of dollars to listen to a panel of negros who have not succeeded in doing what they are claiming to be helping your ass accomplish…but they got a podcast, so they must know something…FOH.

Houston really had one in Just Brittany, and somehow the industry never gave her the full moment she deserved.

Brittany came out of Houston with “Call Me for That Good,” a record that caught the attention of Cash Money and helped launch her professional music career. She followed it with “Slumber Party” and “Color,” with all three records making their way onto Billboard’s R&B charts. (AllMusic)

Then came her 2011 EP Not Just a Pretty Face, followed by projects including Queen of H-Town, Stripped and Brittany Houston. She wasn’t just talking about being an artist — she was actually building a catalog. (Wikipedia)

And THEN she popped up on VH1’s Signed in 2017 and had Rick Ross paying serious attention. Ross offered Brittany a single deal, with an album deal with Maybach Music Group contingent on what she delivered. (VH1)

That is a LOT of career movement for somebody people love to reduce to reality TV.

And let’s not forget — Brittany was a Houston artist, rapper AND singer who had already been grinding long before Signed. The Houston Chronicle even highlighted her as a Billboard-charting artist who had dealt with people judging her before actually getting to know her. (Chron)

So was she perfect? No artist is.

But WAS SHE TALENTED? WAS SHE WORKING? DID SHE HAVE MOMENTS? ABSOLUTELY.

Just Brittany is one of those artists where you look back and say:

Houston had a girl with the records, the personality, the ambition and the story.

Maybe she wasn’t underrated because she lacked talent.

From Moesha to becoming the unforgettable Kim Parker on The Parkers, Countess had the kind of comedic timing that couldn’t be taught. Kim was loud, dramatic, fashionable, hilarious and somehow STILL lovable — and Countess made her a classic.

But people forget she was also a singer! 🎤 Before the acting career fully took over, Countess had already released music and showed that her talent wasn’t limited to television.

And THE FASHION?! 😭🎀

Countess had that very specific late-’90s/early-2000s Black girl style — big hair, colorful looks, rhinestones, coordinated outfits and accessories for DAYS. She understood the assignment before Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok could tell us what the assignment was.

What makes her story even better is that she was a child star who actually grew up in front of us. We watched her go from a young performer to a woman navigating Hollywood, motherhood and life outside the spotlight.

But honestly?

WE WANT HER BACK.

Imagine Countess Vaughn in a new sitcom. A talk show. A reality series. A nostalgic 2000s fashion campaign. A new single. A guest role on a hit comedy.

If you really know 2000s R&B, then you KNOW Nivea. Atlanta-born singer Nivea Hamilton stepped onto the scene with a voice that didn’t have to scream to command attention. Her tone was smooth, conversational, feminine and instantly recognizable.

Then came “Don’t Mess With My Man.” BABY. 😭 That record was EVERYTHING. The attitude, the harmonies, the production — Nivea had officially entered the conversation.

But her catalog goes way deeper than one hit. From “Okay!” to “Laundromat,” Nivea showed she could be vulnerable, playful, grown, messy, confident and completely relatable. Her music felt like real-life conversations set to R&B.

And that’s what makes her artistry so special.

Former NFL cornerback Alphonso Smith Jr. has died at the age of 40, according to TMZ Sports.

Smith reportedly died Wednesday at a housing community in Florida. TMZ reports that sources with direct knowledge say his death was by suicide. Hours before his death, Smith shared a deeply troubling Facebook message discussing personal struggles, past trauma and his belief that he needed help.

Smith made his name as a standout cornerback at Wake Forest University, earning All-American honors before being selected by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Detroit Lions the following year and finished his NFL career with 88 tackles and eight interceptions across 42 games.

In 2022, Smith was inducted into Wake Forest’s Athletic Hall of Fame, honoring a college career that helped cement his legacy on the field.

Smith was just 40 years old.

Lizzo is celebrating a major legal victory after a federal judge dismissed the remaining claims in a harassment and discrimination lawsuit filed against her touring company, Big Grrrl Touring.

Former wardrobe designer Asha Daniels filed the lawsuit in 2023, alleging she experienced sexual harassment, racial and disability discrimination, and a hostile work environment while working on the European leg of Lizzo’s Special Tour. Lizzo herself had already been dismissed from the case in 2024.

Now, nearly three years later, U.S. District Judge Fernando Aenlle-Rocha has tossed the remaining claims, ruling that Daniels failed to provide sufficient evidence for the case to move forward.

Rather than embracing the idea that she was simply “evil” or “demonic,” she explained how alcohol, drugs, untreated mental health struggles, and the internet can become a dangerous combination.

From her own experience, Doja says she used the internet as a way to validate some of the negative thoughts she already had about herself — thoughts that could become amplified when she was drinking. She clarified that while she struggled with weed addiction, alcohol was also something she had a problem with, although she says she was never an alcoholic.

If she could teach someone anything from what she experienced, she says she would emphasize the importance of staying creative, taking care of yourself, and remembering that you are not indestructible. She also acknowledged that she struggled with cocaine about eight years ago, but says she is well past that chapter of her life.

She also spoke about the way people interact with each other online. When comments make you hate yourself, reinforce negative thoughts, or validate the hatred you already have toward yourself, that can be a sign that something deeper needs to be addressed.
