“WHERE ALL MY SCAMMIN-ASS NIGGAS AT?”.

There is nothing and I mean nothing like a catchy, ignorant, dope-ass song to trigger the black and hip-hop community.
Black folks love to be divided by some silly sh*t, with both sides sticking their chests out as if their perspective is impeccable.
My opinion on this varies, but at the root this comes down to young and old. Do I believe that a song like “Spend Dat” depicts Black Americans in a certain light to other races that makes us all look bad, absolutely.
That stance is heavily influenced by where I am in my life. I hereby declare that the “Unc’s” and the “Cougars” are all full of sh*t. We are hypocrites and here’s why.

First off hip-hop/black culture represents so many different things, we need different interpretations of our genre for it to grow.
We need Megan the Stallion just like we need the underground female rap artist Noname. We need both.
We need Drake for a good time, we need Big K.R.I.T for southern nostalgia, we need Frank Ocean and Sexyy Red. It’s all important and necessary so that individuals from all walks of life can find their version of hip-hop and black culture.

We are so old that we forget that we were once young niggas. Our parents HATED our music, HATED our clothes AND HATED everything we had going on because it was ridiculous to them.
They hated all the cursing and the gangster imagery in our music. Yes, we had our conscious, uplifting records but we also had our bullsh*t. “Me so Horny” was a real song by 2 Live Crew, “Love in yo mouth” by Kilo Ali existed.
The legendary southern rap group UGK had a song called “Pregnant P****”. My point is that we popped ss and slapped our d**s on random people while dancing to pure debauchery, let these young folks have their time just like we had ours.
Finally, a much-needed news flash for India Arie and the natural deodorant wearers and the rest of us old f*cks.
“SPEND DAT” IS NOT FOR US!!!
We are not supposed to enjoy it; we need to mind our business and let these young folks make their mistakes and mature just like we ended up doing and stop acting like a song is going to ruin us. Spend dat sh*t, Spend dat sh*t
