From a small South Carolina town to building THEKENDOLLFACTORY in Atlanta, Kentavion Wadsworth is transforming confidence, creating opportunities and preparing the next generation of beauty entrepreneurs.

Kentavion Wadsworth has never allowed his environment to determine the size of his vision.

Known professionally as KONCEITEDKEN, the 26-year-old hairstylist, influencer and entrepreneur has transformed his passion for beauty into an expanding brand.

Originally from Pomaria, South Carolina, and now based in Atlanta, Georgia, Wadsworth’s journey reflects the power of consistency, calculated risks and believing in yourself long before everyone else understands the vision.

Growing up in a small town taught him how to maximize what was available to him. Opportunities were not always easily accessible, so ambition had to be supported by resourcefulness, discipline and a willingness to create his own path.

“Where I’m from, you learn to be resourceful, work hard and create opportunities because they’re not always handed to you,” Wadsworth told Slums Magazine.

“Watching people hustle and make something out of what they had inspired me to believe that success comes from consistency, not circumstances.”

Those early lessons would eventually become the foundation of his career. As his dreams grew, so did his desire to create a better future—not only for himself, but for his family and community.

What began as an interest in hairstyling evolved into a business, a recognizable brand and a platform through which Wadsworth could express his creativity while working toward generational wealth.

Whether he is creating a seamless lace installation, producing viral content, developing products or expanding his businesses, Wadsworth approaches every project with the intention of standing apart. He does not simply want to participate in the beauty industry. He wants to help move it forward.

“I don’t just want to follow trends—I want to create them,” he said.

Atlanta has given Wadsworth the space to continue evolving as a stylist, content creator and business owner, but his South Carolina roots remain central to who he is. They keep him grounded while reminding him of the distance he has traveled and the values that carried him forward.

“Everything I do is about proving that your background doesn’t determine your future,” he explained. “With faith, consistency and the willingness to bet on yourself, you can build the life you dream of.”

BEAUTY IS IN THE BLOODLINE

For Wadsworth, hairstyling was not an industry he discovered by accident. Beauty has always been a part of his life.

His mother has been a licensed cosmetologist for more than 30 years, giving him an early look into the artistry and responsibility behind the profession. Growing up around the salon allowed him to witness how a hairstyle could change more than a client’s appearance—it could transform how that person saw herself.

He watched his mother work, absorbed the atmosphere around her and learned the fundamentals of natural hair care and healthy hair practices. The experience planted a seed that continued to develop as he got older.

“Hair has always been a part of my life because my mom has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 30 years,” he said. “I watched firsthand how doing hair could transform someone’s confidence, and that left a lasting impression on me.”

The defining moment came while Wadsworth was attending college.

Although he was pursuing a degree, he could not ignore the difference between what he was studying and what genuinely energized him. Every opportunity he had, he found himself styling hair, practicing techniques and searching for ways to strengthen his abilities.

Eventually, the truth became impossible to overlook: hairstyling was not simply something he was good at. It was the career he wanted.

Making the decision to leave college and invest completely in his craft required courage. Choosing a nontraditional path often comes with questions, outside opinions and uncertainty, but Wadsworth trusted himself enough to take the leap.

“I made the difficult decision to leave college and fully invest in my passion,” he said. “It was a leap of faith, but one I’ll never regret.”

That decision opened the door to more than a career behind the chair. It introduced him to entrepreneurship, content creation and the possibility of building a brand that could eventually reach far beyond a single appointment.

PERFECTING THE CRAFT

Wadsworth describes his training as a combination of formal education, family knowledge and self-taught expertise.

His mother provided an essential foundation, teaching him about natural hair and the core principles of cosmetology before he entered beauty school.

He later enrolled in cosmetology school to deepen his education and become a licensed professional.

However, the lace installations and techniques for which he is now recognized were largely developed on his own.

“I spent countless hours watching, practicing, making mistakes and perfecting my craft until I developed my own methods and signature style,” Wadsworth said.

“I truly believe that consistency and repetition are what helped me master lace.”

Building a respected name required more than technical ability. During the early stages of his career, Wadsworth had to convince potential clients to trust his hands before he had an established reputation or a long list of accomplishments.

He earned that trust one client at a time.

There were long days, personal sacrifices and moments of doubt.

There was also the continuous financial and emotional investment required to turn a talent into a sustainable business.

Instead of allowing those challenges to discourage him, Wadsworth used them as motivation.

Every mistake became a lesson. Every client provided another opportunity to improve. Every obstacle required him to become more disciplined and innovative.

That commitment eventually caught the attention of one of the beauty industry’s most recognizable entrepreneurs.

BECOMING A FEMMÉ BOY

Working under celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur Cliff Vmir as one of the FEMMÉ Boys became a pivotal chapter in Wadsworth’s professional development.

The opportunity did not arrive overnight. It was the result of the consistency, content and work ethic he had already demonstrated online.

By continuing to show his skills, personality and commitment to his brand, Wadsworth positioned himself for the door he had been praying would open.

“Becoming one of Cliff Vmir’s FEMMÉ Boys is an opportunity I’ll always be grateful for,” he said.

“I stayed focused on perfecting my craft, building my brand and showing up every day, and eventually that consistency opened a door I had been praying for.”

Being surrounded by other ambitious creatives pushed Wadsworth beyond his comfort zone.

Personally, the experience strengthened his confidence and taught him to think on a larger scale. Professionally, it showed him that success in beauty requires far more than knowing how to execute a hairstyle.

A stylist must understand branding, marketing, customer experience, systems and long-term business development.

“Cliff doesn’t just teach us hair—he pours into us as entrepreneurs and individuals,” Wadsworth said. “He’s constantly motivating us, encouraging us to dream bigger and pushing us to keep raising the bar for ourselves.”

Among the lessons Cliff shared, consistency remains one of the most influential. Talent may attract attention, but showing up repeatedly is what creates lasting growth.

Another piece of advice continues to shape Wadsworth’s approach: “Milk the game—don’t let the game milk you.”

For Wadsworth, that means using every opportunity strategically, developing multiple sources of income and maintaining control of his success instead of depending entirely on temporary trends or outside validation.

It also means working intelligently by creating systems and leveraging social media to build something that can thrive beyond his daily work behind the chair.

The value that remains above everything else, however, is loyalty.

“Cliff lives by and has instilled in all of us, ‘Loyalty over royalty,’” Wadsworth said.

“Success and recognition are great, but integrity, loyalty and standing by the people who genuinely support you will always matter more.”

BUILDING A DIGITAL BRAND

Social media has played a major role in expanding KONCEITEDKEN from a local hairstylist into a personality and brand capable of reaching clients across the country.

Through Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, audiences have been introduced not only to his work, but also to his personality and the energy surrounding a KONCEITEDKEN appointment. His content does more than display finished hairstyles.

It tells stories, entertains viewers, educates potential clients and captures the confidence produced by a complete transformation.

That approach has helped potential clients trust his work before they ever enter his salon.

Women now travel from different cities and states specifically to sit in his chair after discovering him online. For Wadsworth, their willingness to travel demonstrates that his audience is responding to more than the hairstyle itself.

They are connecting with his personality, creativity and the complete experience he provides.

“My favorite part of it all is seeing a woman leave my chair feeling beautiful, confident and, most importantly, KONCEITED again,” he said. “That’s the experience I strive to give every single client.”

Maintaining that experience requires Wadsworth to remain both a student and an innovator. As trends and techniques change, he continues practicing, studying and educating himself.

He believes experience should never cause a stylist to become complacent.

At the same time, keeping up with the industry does not mean copying everything it produces.

“I don’t believe in simply following trends—I believe in becoming a trendsetter,” Wadsworth said. “While it’s important to know what’s popular, it’s even more important to bring your own creativity and unique perspective to the industry.”

His clients return because the appointment is about more than achieving a polished look.

Wadsworth wants each woman to feel seen, comfortable and valued from the moment she sits down. The hairstyle may initially attract clients, but the way they feel during and after the service builds loyalty.

INSIDE THEKENDOLLFACTORY

Of all the milestones Wadsworth has achieved, opening his salon, THEKENDOLLFACTORY, remains the accomplishment closest to his heart.

Owning a salon had been one of his biggest dreams since the beginning of his career. It represented independence, freedom and the ability to create something that belonged entirely to him.

“What makes that milestone so meaningful is that I accomplished it on my own,” he said. “There were plenty of obstacles, moments of doubt and sacrifices along the way, but I stayed committed to my vision and refused to give up.”

THEKENDOLLFACTORY is more than a physical location. It is evidence of every risk Wadsworth took and every moment he chose to continue despite uncertainty.

It also provides a welcoming space where women can receive professional care and walk away feeling more confident than when they arrived.

“It’s more than just a salon—it’s proof that dreams become reality when you’re willing to bet on yourself, stay consistent and never stop believing in your vision,” he said.

Running a growing business has also required him to establish firm boundaries. While some people may interpret his directness as being mean, Wadsworth says that assumption does not reflect who he truly is.

Behind the professional exterior is someone who cares deeply about his clients and enjoys building genuine relationships with them.

However, he also understands that maintaining a successful business requires structure, standards and respect.

“When it comes to business, I believe business is business,” he said. “I have to protect my brand, my time, my peace and the standards I’ve worked so hard to build.”

Social media often shows the final transformation without revealing the hours, sacrifices, pressure and difficult decisions happening behind the scenes.

Every policy and boundary Wadsworth establishes is designed to protect the quality of his work and the client experience.

“Setting boundaries and being professional doesn’t make me unfriendly—it makes me a responsible business owner,” he explained. “Once business is handled, we can laugh, joke and enjoy each other’s company.”

CREATING THE NEXT GENERATION

As his career evolves, Wadsworth is preparing for a future that extends beyond daily salon appointments.

He eventually hopes to reduce his time behind the chair so he can travel, continue learning and become a resource for emerging stylists.

Education and mentorship have become increasingly important to him because he understands how transformative the right guidance can be.

One of the biggest goals on his vision board is opening a cosmetology school.

His vision is to establish a learning environment that reaches beyond basic techniques and licensing requirements.

He wants students to develop exceptional hairstyling skills while also learning the business knowledge many creatives are forced to discover through trial and error.

Branding, marketing, financial literacy, content creation, customer service, client retention and entrepreneurship would all be essential parts of the experience.

“My goal is to prepare students for the real world—not just to pass a licensing exam,” Wadsworth said.

Ultimately, the legacy of KONCEITEDKEN will not be measured only through flawless installations, viral videos or business accomplishments.

Wadsworth wants his success to create a blueprint that gives other stylists permission to dream beyond the chair.

He wants to be remembered as someone who created opportunities, empowered others and helped elevate the beauty industry.

If his knowledge can help another stylist avoid his early mistakes, build a profitable business or recognize the power of their own talent, then he will have fulfilled a greater purpose.

“Success isn’t just about what I achieve—it’s about what I leave behind,” Wadsworth said. “My greatest accomplishment would be knowing that I inspired future hairstylists to dream bigger, work harder and build legacies of their own.”

From Pomaria to Atlanta, Kentavion Wadsworth’s story is still unfolding. Each new chapter reflects the same values that have carried him from the beginning: faith, resilience, authenticity and the courage to bet on himself.

The hairstyles may introduce the world to KONCEITEDKEN, but the business, vision and legacy behind the brand are what will make his impact last.
