Now this is the kind of girl we need to be paying attention to before everybody starts acting like they

discovered her!

Some of y'all may recognize that face from Journey Montana's Atlanta girl-group days, when she was part

of the final lineup of viral ATL group WeRCharm back in 2020. But Journey wasn't about to let the end of a

group be the end of her story.

The Harlem-born singer-songwriter has been quietly building what could turn into one of R&B;'s most

interesting careers.

Before the solo spotlight, Journey was already developing her artistry from a young age, singing covers, writing, recording and eventually stepping into the group world as a teenager.

She's spoken about how being in a group helped develop her as a writer and performer — and you can hear that growth throughout her solo catalog.

Then came In & Out, her 2021 debut EP, followed by Stargirl in 2023, where she really started showing us

who Journey Montana was without the group attached to her name.

That project gave us records like “CryBaby,” “Only Have Eyes For You” and “Undefeated” featuring Eric Bellinger.

Also, let's not forget Bad Decisions — the record that helped push Journey further into the conversation, reportedly pulling more than 2.8 million streams as her profile continued to grow.

By 2025, Journey had graduated from promising newcomer to full-on album artist with Lucky Girl

Syndrome.

BET highlighted the project as a major step in her evolution, with Journey describing her goal as leaving listeners with more confidence and a better perspective of themselves.

And the girl isn't just singing. Journey has also stepped into acting, including a recurring role on All

American, proving that her talent isn't limited to a recording booth.

Now HERE'S the question: Are we watching the next big R&B; girl emerge right before our eyes?

Because Journey Montana has the voice.

She has the pen.

She has the look.

She has the catalog.

Most importantly… she has HISTORY.

She went from girl-group hopeful to solo artist, from covers on social media to albums on streaming platforms — and she's still only getting started.

With her latest releases continuing into 2026, this may be the part of the story where the industry finally

catches up with the girl who's been preparing for this moment all along.
