Da’Vinchi is facing major backlash following his appearance on Cam Newton’s Funky Friday, where the conversation about foreign actors landing American roles turned into a broader discussion about American work ethic, with Da’Vinchi describing Americans as “incompetent” and arguing that the culture has created people who lack independence and work ethic.
The conversation later shifted to the Black diaspora and Black Americans, adding another layer to an already heated debate. Da’Vinchi has since clarified that his comments were a “generalized statement” and said he should have been more specific.
Now the bigger question being raised online: Will Black producers, directors, filmmakers and other industry creatives continue opening doors for Da’Vinchi—or will his comments affect who is willing to work with him moving forward?
What do you think?
